Philosophy of Ministry at DABC: We believe that every believer has been given spiritual gifts by God to be employed joyfully in service in the context of the local church. The church is the body of Christ and, as such, it is intended to function in harmony with each member using his or her gifts for the building up of believers and spread of the gospel of Jesus Christ worldwide (1 Corinthians 12, Ephesians 4:11-13). We strive to provide opportunities for every member to be engaged in an area of ministry thus utilizing the diversity of gifts to unify and edify our local church family.
Children’s Ministry: Children are a priority here at Dayton Avenue and we desire to supplement and encourage their spiritual growth through a wide variety of programs. We believe that parents have the primary responsibility for the spiritual growth of their children and we as a church seek to assist in their spiritual development with interactive Bible lessons, exciting games, hands-on application, and participation in worship. Our children are the church for the next generation and we desire to teach them God’s truth while we model God’s love.
Preschool Ministry: Jesus said “Have you never read ‘From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise’”? (Matthew 21:16). We believe that children are a vital part of our church family and desire to see them come to faith in Christ and grow in spiritual maturity. We strive to do this by providing a safe and engaging environment where children can learn about the love of God and how he cares for them. We seek to actively guide the children to recognize and appreciate God’s love and involvement in their lives. We do this through songs, activities, Bible stories, prayer, and games as we creatively teach children the truth of the Bible.
